Hey dudes, it's a Mari!

Mari is older, wiser and less horribly traumatised than in GH and as such she's less self-destructive, kinder, and not as likely to betray everyone she meets. Or kill people. She's still a dick, though.

While there are still people she attaches herself to like crazy, she's mostly very casual and laid-back about most of her relationships. She's also hella thick skinned and assumes everyone else is too. Just tell her you're upset and she'll apologise, what's the big deal?

As for skills she's brought to the island, she's a medical student (although that's been put on hold recently) and a first aider in St. John's Ambulance service. She can also do some sewing and cooking.

While she occasionally makes references to TV, she almost never uses the internet. No big deal, her brother is some big shot investor in social networking sites and seeing his name everywhere pisses her off. Also her voice is naturally veerrry soft so it's usually a surprise when she drops five f-bombs in one sentence.

In the airport you might have seen her and her brother having the most awkward pre-flight goodbye ever. On the plane, she was probably sleeping, tbh. If you were sitting next to her, she might have had her head on your shoulder. Delicious personal space.

It depends on if we're in the Australasian or Oceania ecozones. I think Oceania would be easier to determine, but I was studying Australian plants and might have more to base information from for any that would be useful medically or edible.

I have been. Results thus far are inconclusive

No, that's accurate talk as of my results right now. I'm not going to state any results until I have a better idea of where we are in relation to where we're supposed to be. Otherwise it is wild mass guessing and not useful in the least.

I see palm trees and mangos, neither of which helps. I'll tell you if I can find an eucalyptus tree.

Tea, yes. When the leaves are dried, because they hurt like a bitch if you aren't careful.

Fuck, I have all those books from the medicinal plants course I took and they are all sitting in my apartment. Potentially useless because they all focused on the Americas, but even so.

The class was two years ago, okay. I remember some.

You wouldn't want to eat nettle leaves raw. Those stinging hairs have a minor toxin in them.

If you see a tree, run the fuck away. Those can kill horses.

Good. Warn others so we don't have to deal with a million rashes caused by them

Have you seen some of the people we're with? Even if everyone knows nettles sting, how do they know what they look like when rampaging through the jungle without a care of where they're stepping?

You're the one that will have to deal with it.

Simple in theory. Good luck on it being simple in practice when you have the loud one(s) panicking

... did you miss the screeching woman that wanted to throttle the pilot?

Realist, thank you.

Requires initial knowledge in knowing what a dock leaf was and that it helps in the healing.

Also requires dock leaves to be on the island.

It is better to underestimate and head off potential danger than to have people who could otherwise be useful die due to their own ignorance of living on an island.

I include myself in that, where my own knowledge is lacking.

They do not. I know they do not, because I can tell you right now that every single person in my family would blink at you in confusion if you asked them what would heal nettles. Then they'd go google it.

You know, you'd come across as a lot smarter if you stopped telling me what I was doing and being wrong in obviously verifiable ways.
