Hey dudes, it's a Mari!
Mari is older, wiser and less horribly traumatised than in GH and as such she's less self-destructive, kinder, and not as likely to betray everyone she meets. Or kill people. She's still a dick, though.
While there are still people she attaches herself to like crazy, she's mostly very casual and laid-back about most of her relationships. She's also hella thick skinned and assumes everyone else is too. Just tell her you're upset and she'll apologise, what's the big deal?
As for skills she's brought to the island, she's a medical student (although that's been put on hold recently) and a first aider in St. John's Ambulance service. She can also do some sewing and cooking.
While she occasionally makes references to TV, she almost never uses the internet. No big deal, her brother is some big shot investor in social networking sites and seeing his name everywhere pisses her off. Also her voice is naturally veerrry soft so it's usually a surprise when she drops five f-bombs in one sentence.
In the airport you might have seen her and her brother having the most awkward pre-flight goodbye ever. On the plane, she was probably sleeping, tbh. If you were sitting next to her, she might have had her head on your shoulder. Delicious personal space.

Go see if you can find something familiar, alright? Plant man?

Fuck, I have all those books from the medicinal plants course I took and they are all sitting in my apartment. Potentially useless because they all focused on the Americas, but even so.

Didn't you memorise anything for...I don't know. Exams?

You wouldn't want to eat nettle leaves raw. Those stinging hairs have a minor toxin in them.
If you see a tree, run the fuck away. Those can kill horses.

You're the one that will have to deal with it.

Also requires dock leaves to be on the island.
It is better to underestimate and head off potential danger than to have people who could otherwise be useful die due to their own ignorance of living on an island.
I include myself in that, where my own knowledge is lacking.

Treat people like they're stupid and they'll only get angry at you. You know that, right?
Now, you can go ahead and cringe in whatever corner you'd like best. I'm going to find some for food and work out how to get rid of the stingers.

You know, you'd come across as a lot smarter if you stopped telling me what I was doing and being wrong in obviously verifiable ways.
