I DON'T EVEN KNOW ANYMORE all I know is that I missed playing Adam and seeing him stranded on an island could be fantastic.

Anyway, this is Adam. He's a sound technician (read: he holds heavy mics on sets and occasionally gets people coffee) from Los Angeles who was planning on having a lovely vacation in Australia. He traveled alone, sat in coach after nearly throwing up over the price of an upgrade and played mahjong for most of the flight. I apologize if you sat near him. He gets very vocal when he's winning.

Adam has a history with mental health issues, but he's off his medication now and relatively well-adjusted to daily life. That being said, he's got a slue of coping devices. As loud and vibrant as he is, his reactions can seem shallow. He feels very deeply for people but masks that with BEING FUCKING LOUD AND RIDICULOUS! When he was younger and more earnest, he scared everyone off. Clingy to the extreme, it's just best that he keeps up his persona.

Um, what else, what else. He's got a billion useless random facts at his disposal, only now maybe some of them aren't so useless! He's fascinated with animals, vegan (TEMPORARILY, SOB), hates religion, something of a polyglot and probably the most supportive person you will ever meet. Adam also rivals Mari in the Bad Ideas Department, so... never take his plans seriously.

He loves you all, really. Let him love you.

Meet Bryanna Andromeda Cook (Annie for short!), who is an entirely new character from me!

She's one of Marnie's producers. Annie, along with her younger brother Alex, her mother Krystal, and Marnie, was going to Sydney to launch her book "On Production and Prada". She's lived the hard knock life (heee), with her parents divorcing pretty early on. Annie and Alex were left with Krystal. Krystal has always been the kookie sort. Her attempts to support the children involved a gig as a horoscope writer for an obscure publication. Annie had to compensate by playing the mother role, basically running the house and rearing her brother all on her own.

As a result, Annie's high-strung and paranoid. Everything needs to be spick and span, in every possible way. Her demeanor - once she's gotten over the shock - will be forever stiff, painfully awkward, occasionally twitchy, and intermittently abrasive. She's of the mindset that everything must be solved or fixed, even when there are no problems or messes in the first place. Annie will definitely attempt to take charge (at least of Marnie and her family) and figure out a means of surviving. (Again, once she's moved on from her anxiety/asthma attack. This asthmatic needs her inhaler every three minutes.)

Pretty volatile, this one. There's no telling when her reaction will be to blow up or seethe in a corner. But she will be determined enough to pull through. Maybe.

Skills-wise, she's an on-off vegetarian and a botany-enthusiast, so she'll probably be decent with ID-ing edible plants and concocting tasteful salads. She's gone camping occasionally (and hated it), so she'll have a few camping facts. Ultimately useless camping facts. That she will voice out anyway. Just to drive home a point.

At the airport, she was giddy and restless. She probably kept fixing her brother's clothes and smoothing out imaginary wrinkles. On the plane itself, she was with her brother and mother. She didn't sleep. And she screamed all the way through the crash.

And here is a Kaoru! He is similar to someone who looks like him but not quite.

Kaoru is a Berkeley college student in the Integrated Biology program, with a focus on plant ecology. He was on his way to a two-week field school in Australia in order to get hands-on research for his senior thesis, and is split between bemoaning his luck on being stuck on an island and going well this will make for an awesome start to a thesis once we get the hell off.

He has a lot of theoretical knowledge, but very little practical experience. Even his camping, which he has done a bit of, has been camping with the ability to check his email on his phone whenever he felt like it. So he'll know the theory on how to use tarps to get drinking water out of ocean water thanks to Voyage of the Mimi, which he saw when he was seven or something, but absolutely no idea how it actually works in practice and will spend many, many hours trying to figure it out (and potentially failing horribly).

Kaoru also likes to poke at people to see reactions, although he'll do his best to keep that down while survival is at stake, and is at his best playing the role of the peanut gallery. If he has to take charge to some degree, he will, but he will be just as/far more happy following someone who knows wtf they're doing.

This has also been the worst week for him, because he's had to deal with scheduling drama and loan drama for the field school, was dumped by his girlfriend, nearly missed his flight to Australia because he was hungover and only managed to make it because his twin called him, and is now stuck on an island wearing his Oscar the Grouch pajamas pants.

This is Marnie! Most of you guys know her already and, while she might act very differently in this setting, she's still the same character deep down.

Marnie is a British actress who's been working in L.A. for the past several months on a SyFy fantasy series, Arcanus. (No, it's not like Game of Thrones.) Once the series went into post-production, she agreed to go on a book tour with one of her producers, Ms. Cook. They start their journey in Sydney, or, well, they would have.

Polite and cheerful, Marnie might seem like the perfect little ingenue, but she's just good at suppressing her true feelings. She'll espouse working as a community, respecting one another, keeping a stiff upper lip, but if you catch her when she thinks no one is watching, you'll see how unstable she really is.

Between projects, she takes care of her elder brother. Her parents are so very proud of Marnie, but treat Allen no better than a stray animal they'd taken in on a whim. The number one reason she's desperate to get off this island, more than her career, more than Ms. Cook's, is the desire to keep her brother from breaking down with worry.

She's got a handful of somewhat useful skills. She's nimble, coordinated and has an excellent memory. Her singing voice is quite nice as well, but what's that worth? Still, Marnie loves to entertain. Ask her for a song or a monolog and she'll probably try to organize a choir or a play.

tl;dr: Marnie is repressed, overly sweet, a caretaker, talented, and a ticking time-bomb.

Hey dudes, it's a Mari!

Mari is older, wiser and less horribly traumatised than in GH and as such she's less self-destructive, kinder, and not as likely to betray everyone she meets. Or kill people. She's still a dick, though.

While there are still people she attaches herself to like crazy, she's mostly very casual and laid-back about most of her relationships. She's also hella thick skinned and assumes everyone else is too. Just tell her you're upset and she'll apologise, what's the big deal?

As for skills she's brought to the island, she's a medical student (although that's been put on hold recently) and a first aider in St. John's Ambulance service. She can also do some sewing and cooking.

While she occasionally makes references to TV, she almost never uses the internet. No big deal, her brother is some big shot investor in social networking sites and seeing his name everywhere pisses her off. Also her voice is naturally veerrry soft so it's usually a surprise when she drops five f-bombs in one sentence.

In the airport you might have seen her and her brother having the most awkward pre-flight goodbye ever. On the plane, she was probably sleeping, tbh. If you were sitting next to her, she might have had her head on your shoulder. Delicious personal space.

Intros can now go up!

Also, this is a screened post as per what was suggested. In the coming weeks after the start of the game, a few suitcases and other items will float out of the plane towards the island. This is where you suggest surprise items to wash up on the shores! They will all go in, unless it's impossible/game breaking.

Have at it!

Alfred is a stoic, grouchy dude! He's also had a very boring, very average life. Not gonna lie, when the plane went down and his life flashed before his eyes, it was very quick and full of failure.

He's got a degree in English lit so in an emergency he can tell you just how rad the Modernists were (super rad). However, he's also something of a handy-man, so he can give people some help as far as that goes!

Emotions make Alfred uncomfortable. He doesn't really complain, but he likes to gtfo if someone starts crying. He doesn't understand it. If there's loads of panicking going on, he'll be over in the corner, looking awkward.

At the moment, he's carrying three books, two chocolate bars, some clothes, a lamp and a camera. This is the worst holiday. >(

In the airport lounge you would have seen him sitting off to himself, reading, looking uncomfortable whenever someone sat too close.

In the plane, if anyone was sitting next to him, he would have looked incredibly uncomfortable, drawing in his elbows and trying to watch tv or read his book without taking up any space.

So, the game is opening in ten days!

This is a list of resources/flotsam and jetsam that'll be there when the castaways get there. I'm also planning on having more stuff wash up from the crash within a couple weeks. If you have any suggestions for other things, drop them in here!

Also, should we start introductory posts on the OOC?

It starts with a noise, a tremble in the plane's wings. A disembodied, rasping voice over the speaker system: "this is your captain speaking. We're having some engine trouble. Nothing to worry about."

For some, it really is nothing to worry about. For others, it's just another thing to add to their growing list, 'reasons why I should never fly again'. The plane passes over a pocket of what feels like turbulence; people grip their arm rests, let out nervous giggles. A few become aware that the flight crew are whispering to each other and tension begins to rise. But nobody's really ready for the crash - who honestly believes their plane will drop out of the sky?

Those who survive the crash, who manage to make their way out of the sinking wreckage, find themselves with an unlikely source of refuge. A seemingly deserted island lies before them, a tropical sanctuary in otherwise treacherous waters.

But with no way to contact the outside world and no sign of help, how long can these castaways survive?

Cast Adrift is an OC game following a group of castaways on a deserted island. It opens on February 17th.
